Internal Family Systems Therapy

For when you need to get well and stay well.

Internal Family Systems Therapy

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy is a compassionate, evidence-informed approach that helps people understand and heal the different "parts" of themselves. You may notice one part of you wants to move forward while another feels stuck, anxious, critical, or overwhelmed. Rather than viewing these experiences as problems to eliminate, IFS helps us understand how these parts developed and the important roles they have played in helping you survive difficult experiences.

From a trauma-informed perspective, IFS recognizes that many protective behaviors, emotions, and beliefs originated as attempts to keep you safe. Through a gentle and respectful process, we work to build greater self-understanding, reduce internal conflict, and help wounded parts heal. Many clients find that IFS leads to increased self-compassion, emotional balance, and a deeper sense of connection with themselves and others.

We recommend weekly sessions for 12 to 14 weeks, with each session lasting 50 minutes.
