Diagnostic Assessments

Dr. Schafer specializes in the diagnosis and documentation of PTSD, anxiety, and OCD.

This is achieved through rigorous psychological assessment.

Psychological assessments take one 80 minute session. Dr. Schafer then, over the course of days to weeks, determines appropriate diagnoses and documents these findings in a psychological assessment report. She then meets with each patient for a 30 minute follow-up session wherein she shares the findings of the evaluation and gives the patient a clinical documenting these findings.

Patients who are found - through validated semistructured interviews and self-report measures - to have PTSD, anxiety, or OCD will receive documentation of these conditions which can be shared with schools or employers to receive reasonable accommodations. Dr. Schafer’s report will capture a detailed image of symptoms, distress, and impairment of PTSD, anxiety, and OCD.

Each patient leaves the follow-up session with a copy of the psychological report which outlines their symptoms and diagnosis (if present). This documentation can be shared with schools or employers to obtain recommended and reasonable accommodations.

The cost of psychological assessments is $1,500.
